So we have been sailing around the Etsy seas a little more this past week and have discovered many new delights.
There are a range of authentic cultural artefacts or culturally inspired wonders to be discovered as displayed in this treasury by Tracey from SewHeartFeltShop. We were very happy to have our Tribal Fusion Belly Dance Screen Printed Tote Bag included in this collection of folklore, fairytales, sumptuous examples of ethnic textiles and rich earth tone colours.
This next collection titled ‘Good Morning‘ by Ebru from Aynikki certainly invokes a sense of sunshine and warmth, surely welcoming in the spring after this miserable winter. To us, this treasury has an overall feel good factor to it, which certainly fits in with the vibe of our Rockabilly Day of the Dead Canvas Tote Bag that was selected to be apart of it.
We will continue to sail the high seas of the online crafting community and share our finds next week! Please feel free to share you favourite Etsy finds in the comments below and include the link to your chosen item.
There are many beautiful gems out there and sometimes it takes someone to put together a treasury so we can discover these visual delights for ourselves.
I am delighted to share with you these two beautiful treasuries that we have been featured in this week.
Not only is this a beautiful collection of which I love the colours but it also features our black tweed newsboy hat modelled by Steve from Vaudeville Hippie. Check out our previous post, which features his tutorial on how to plan and make your very own newsboy hat.
Pink, soft and elegant are all words that can be used to describe the next treasury created by Jody Lee from Putterpaws. ‘Creations From The Heart‘ features a number of items that reminds of the things I use to dream about when I was a little girl.
We would like to thank to Jody for including our up-cycled wooden necklace.
Keep on digging and you never know what you may find!
With the lead up to Valentines Day I have created this Moulin Rouge inspired Treasury.
Think Paris, think romance, think sexy and become inspired by these wonderful picks from Etsy!
My particular favourite this week are:
Bustle Skirt with Steampunk Victorian flair by TalismanaDesigns because I love the colour combinations of black, white and red especially if black and white stripes are also involved.
And of course no Moulin Rouge collection should be without some artwork by the wonderful Toulouse Lautrec from Posterorama:

I have curated this week’s treasury in celebration of our most recent hand made, screen printed day of the dead tote bag. The colour scheme was inspired by the colours in the bag design.
I particularly love the ‘Black Widow’ fine art print by Louise Nylander. Day of the Dead art can be sometimes over powering with all its colours and patterns. However, Louise has successfully captured the style by using a much simpler colour palette of black, grey and purple.
I also love the huge range of Frida Kahlo screen prints offered by Minimalistra Clothing. They have taken iconic images of Frida and applied them to a range of products using a solid black design onto a strong vibrant background colour.
Rockabilly has been a big inspiration for us. I blogged about some of our original artwork and processes earlier on in the year in my ‘Just Draw’ post. Some of these ideas have now been developed into finished products and we are now proud to introduce our ‘Burn it All’ tote bag.
These tote bags are completely handmade by us from the sewing and construction of the bag itself to the design and screen printed image. Each bag has a complimentary thread colour to match the colours in the design of the print.
To see the full range of our tote bag designs please visit our Etsy shop bag section. We would also love to hear your opinions about the designs.
I really enjoyed making and writing about my last treasury. Since then, I have been particularly interested in looking at other people’s treasuries that have included white, black, silver and gold. To me, they reflect that “Christmas party” glamour and sparkle vibe.
I was therefore inspired to create my own. Originally I wanted to create a treasury called ‘Vaudeville Christmas’ but then I discovered the 1950s dress from RococoVintage who have a fabulous range of vintage dresses. This became my starting point and revised theme of ‘Vintage Christmas‘. The dress helped to set the colour palette and direction of what I wanted to achieve, which was vintage glamour at Christmas.
This is quite different to the usual items I would pick for a treasury and I took pleasure in searching through the vintage sections of Etsy. I also discovered a more effective way of searching, making the treasury curating process even more fun.
My favourite pieces have to be the 70s Stripe Faux Fur Coat from WhiteWaveVintage who have a vast collection of vintage goods. I also love the styling and photography by MagpiesShop who use light and colour effectively to tell a story a bout each of their products.
Do you have any Christmas themed treasuries you would like to share? We would love to find out what inspired you when curating. Happy treasury making.
It occurred to me the other day that after a long stint obsessively wearing circus inspired red, black, white and striped clothing I have subconsciously slipped back into wearing much earthier colours and actually feeling much happier for it.
I am not sure whether this is down to the change in season, natural progression of being a virgo (earth sign) and therefore reverting back to intuitive ways or to the fact I have been looking at hippie/festival/faerie/alternative clothing on Etsy recently.
Either way, I decided to curate the Earth Child treasury above to explore this earthy side some more. At the moment I am simply loving :
My other current favourite shops are:
I think the endless hours on the computer and the frustration of dark winter nights have awakened a need to reconnect with nature.
If like me you love all things inspired by nature, with a hippie/boho twist then check out the full treasury and these shops, they have some truly beautiful items.
